Rear offside indicator problem

Featured Replies

Good evening, a friend has a 2015 ford focus and the offside rear indicator doesn't work. The bulb has been replaced but still not working, the indicator flashes rapidly when indicating right. Also when the lights are on the red tail light flashes when indicating right. Anyone ever had this issue?

Kind regards, Jon.

The earth (ground) is missing or has a high resistance on the O/S rear light unit.

I have identified which wires are faulty as the indicator starts working when I move them in certain positions. How do I get at the wire connection on the back of the bulb holder as they are sealed with a black type of resin?

If you are 100% certain that the 'break' is inside the resin (which would be very unusual), I would just get another bulb holder from a breaker, and solder the new one on once you have cut the old one off...

EDIT

I have just had a look at bulb holders and they seem to have a simple push connector on them?

If it is the wire in to the plug that is broken then you will need to cut the plug off and join a replacement to the wiring harness. Cut the wiring about 50mm (2 inches) back from the faulty plug. EXAMPLE shown below:

Can you please post some photos of your 'faulty' lamp holder/wiring so that we can check which type of replacement harness you need for your model ????? 👍
