PCM ECU

Featured Replies

I have a Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost 2017 with no ECU. I heard that its possible to get a used one but it has to have exactly the same numbers. Can these numbers be found from the information on the VIN? if so who is able to do this and will it still need programming? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Ford dealers parts department should be able to supply the correct PCM if you give then the VIN

Yes it will need programmed with your vehicles "AsBuilt" data, which you can do using a laptop and a licensed version (£12) of FORScan.

Thanks but Ford dealers want silly money so I was hoping to source one from a breakers yard.

Also it actually has a damaged ECU plug and I've told that Ford would replace the wiring loom rather than repair it so that would make it unaffordable.
