Focus 21 ecoboost mild hybrid. With flat battery. Tried charging with leads reversed.. Realised and removed.. Tried jump starting and engine just turns over... Possible fuse blow or any other suggestions.. Thanks.

    How long was it connected backwards?

    What charger? Most decent trickle chargers have reverse polarity protection and won’t do anything connected backwards.

    Wasn't trickle was probably 20 ur old charger

    Then I would expect that the fuse in the charger has blown.

    Was a old one.. Probably 20 + yrs.. Connected for maybe a few mins.....

    May I suggest you update your battery charger? You wouldn't use a 20 year old mobile phone, technology has moved on quite a pace since your charger was made. Many on here use a SmartCharger made by MayPole - inexpensive, and very efficient. Also, will not work if connected 'backwards' so won't damage anything...

    Update.. Charged for 5 hrs, engine turned over for about 30 secs then kicked into life. Massive thanks to all who replied. I had spoken to ford today and they advised that all the modern technology in them. Means the car need frequent use.... May need to investigate a battery with more power/solar trickle charger..... Any advice
