Misfire Hesitation on acceleration 1.6 diesel Engine. HELP!

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

New to the forum and need some advice

I have the 1.6 Diesel Engine and I am having hesitation/mifire on acceleration.

Upon inspection I found the crankcase breather pipe was cracked from the rocker cover, so I replaced the pipe, I also cleaned the MAF, Air intake sensor and MAP sensor as they were coated in oily residue. The misfire disappeared but came back but not as bad 3 days later.

My only suspect at this time is a faulty EGR or MAF sensor. The MAF sensor idles at 10g/s and goes up to 50-70 on motorway driving. I plugged out MAF sensor when the misfire returned however it still persisted.

The only reprieve I got is when I reset the EGR and PCM via for scan and drove for 60 Kms and misfire is gone. I'm at my wits end as to solving this. I don't want to be throwing parts at it.

I've attached a screen shot of the values when I got back from my journey. Do they look normal?
