Revs sticking

Featured Replies

Hi guys I have a tdci 1.5 focus

Had a new clutch fitted and since then when changing gear as you press the clutch  the revs drop then stick for a second or 2

Clutch guy has checked everything and there's nothing out of place or loose so it's nothing physical so its more electronic issue he reckons

More noticeable when starting off in first , as changing into 2nd the revs stick around 1500rpm and actually goes up slightly before find it's true revs

I've changed the clutch pedal position sensor on gear box but no different

The revs don't stick when idling ,only when changing gear !

Any ideas guys ???

What about the one on the Clutch Pedal.

It sounds like the car may just be rev matching for the next gear it's expecting you to select. I it possible it's always done this and your just hadn't noticed it.

Hi no it's only done it since the clutch was changed. I can cope with the revs sticking between gears 3 rd and above  it's mainly when changing from 1st to 2nd the revs jump by nearly 500rpm and sticks for about 3 seconds

So when in traffic if you move away in 1st but then have to brake again and press the clutch ,the revs basically shoot up and then come back down to idle after a couple of seconds
