Car down on power a doesn't pull naturally

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

My 67 plate Focus 2.0 diesel is a bit weird when pulling away.. when you pull away gently, it feels like it's going to stall and you have to accelerate for it to pick up.
Usually, when I drive a 2.0 diesel (I've had a couple before), they naturally pick up as you let out the clutch.

Basically, it makes it very difficult to drive smoothly.

Other than this, the car drives and idles nicely and smoothly and pulls away quite well.. although, I would say it is slightly lower on power midrange than I would expect.

When I got the car, the DPF was clogged up. This has now been "fixed".

Is it possible the problem could be the turbo or some breathing thingy clogged up?

Is there any way I can get it tested without taking it apart, or check it using the ODB port?

Thanks as always 🙂
