C Max tyre valve

Featured Replies

Had a new tyre fitted at Kwik Fit. Valve was replaced with incorrect non sensor valve. Returned to have correct vale installed as tyre was loosing air. replaced with correct valve, still loosing air then told my rims were faulty around the valve area and that it corrodes easily and they need skimming. In addition was told this was a regular occurrence with Fords which i have never experienced after driving Fords for over 30 years. Anyone else experienced this or am i being led up the garden path????

Many modern Ford alloys aren't great quality.  It's not uncommon for them to corrode around the valve seat.  Generally the corrosion can be removed with a stiff brush before fitting the new valve, but it depends on how badly corroded it is.

I was in the same boat with 2 tyres losing air, you can tell which 2 it was in these pics

I had a full set of tyres fitted at Kwik Fit but they were still losing air,
Turns out they didn't do anything with my valves so I asked for some money back.

It took a new set of Valves and a full Wheel Referb to fix the problem,
It's been over a year and all 4 wheels have been solid since.
