Air Con Recharge

Featured Replies

I want to recharge the air con on my Focus 2001. i was told by a mechanic it is a small fixing under the passenger side front wheel arch, but could not see it.

I was going to buy a kit from Halfords for £30 and do it myself, but was told my the said mechanic that this was illegal due to the new laws regarding refrigerant. I checked this and yes he was right, but this is to do with disposal of refrigerant not recharging your car air con system.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Take it somewhere to have it done. Most independants will do an air con service for £40-£50 and it involves compressed gas so not really worth the risk on a £30 Halfrauds kit.

yes that right, "its not diy job." do the wrong thing and "oops" its hospital time!!
