St170 Clutch Problems??

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, new to the forum and was wondering if anyone could help.

Had the clutch, master & slaves and fly wheel replaced on my ST170 after xmas as they were all knackered. Had no problems until about a month ago.

When I had driven for a while the clutch would start to slip. I took it back to the garage and they took it apart and said they had found loads of oil in it because the oil seal from the gearbox had gone. So they installed clutch number 2 of the year and sorted the oil seal.

Didnt really drive much for the next week but when I used it the following week I noticed the clutch was slipping again. So the garage took it in again and said they would sort it for no charge.

Got it back yesterday and its slipping again.

My brother works at the garage and the owner is a family friend so I trust them and they have one the last 2 jobs for free.

The garage are at a loss. They have a part time ford mech there who is also confused by it. Have used only genuine ford parts and they said they have sealed everything and done the best job they can but we are obviously missing something.

Any ideas?!?!?! (before I just drive the thing off a cliff!!!!) :(

Cheers
