MK7 Fiesta Reverse lights intermittent

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been having problems again with my reverse lights on my mk7 (61 plate) fiesta Zetec S. I’ve had the reverse switch replaced and checked fuses and all are ok. They worked for a while after the reverse switch was replace but then stopped, so could be the new switch itself is faulty? The reverse lights sometimes come on but very intermittent. I have rear sensors and they won’t work unless the reverse lights are working don’t know if it’s all linked or if the sensors are faulty. car is in for MOT on Monday so yeah….

if anyone could let me know or point me in the right direct that’d be great!

Cheers!

Is the reverse switch fully screwed in to the gearbox ?

Check the wire to the switch and make sure it hasn't corroded.

Is it the correct gearbox switch fitted, there are several switches and they are not all the same length.

Check the connections to the bulbs for broken wires

I assume so, it was done by my local garage! I’ll double check though thank you!
