No docs - all online

Featured Replies

When I traded in my old Honda I had a multiplicity of paper documents to hand. However, taking possession of my 2022 plate Ford from a Ford Main dealer, I was told everything is ‘on-line’  now. Apart from my bill of sale, listing warranties I took out too, I was given no other documents, no service book, no MOT (too new for MOT), no warrantee docs, zilch. I downloaded the FordPass app and put in my VIN but the information shown is very limited, apart from identifying the car and stating when its ‘base warrantee’ expires, there is no more information. When I tick the ‘vehicle’ icon, it is blank. No service info, nothing.

Is this the ‘norm’ now? I feel I am missing stuff or am I too I ‘old school’?

Sadly, it is indeed the norm. Less than half of the Ford dealers seem to be using the online system for your service records, and as you know there are no paper books any more.

You can view a copy of your Ford Owners Handbook direct on the Ford site.

I would be inclined to keep all servicing details in a small notebook, including any details of parts replaced. At least then you have a simple record to refer to for your own peace of mind.

I had same on my Fiesta. However I found the Ford dealer who serviced it and after contacting them was able to get a copy of the service invoice but with the customer details blacked out
