2016 transit starting

Featured Replies

My 2016 transit van is starting to play up   When I turn on the ignition to start sometimes it gives it’s little sound and says check immobiliser and won’t start. In the hand book says put feet on clutch and brake the same time. That helps and usually starts.  What is wrong with immobiliser or is it something else.  Thanks

Is it keyless start, have you replaced the battery in the keyfob ?

If that always works then it will be the clutch pedal switch at fault. It has to detect that your clutch is fully depressed before it wit will allow it to start.

Pressing both the clutch and brake pedal at the same time is just a back up to allow it to be started with a fault on the clutch pedal switch.
