Ford Focus 2011 Right light not Working

Featured Replies

Hello There!

The right dipped beam on my Ford Focus 2011 is not working after a re-soldering job on the Instrument panel by a local shop. Can something broken there be the cause of the light not coming up. I am not too confident of the quality of work done by the shop.

Short answer No.

Have you checked the headlight lamp ?

Thanks Unofix. I took the left lamp and and put it on the right side and nothing. My next step is going to be to check the fuse. Do you know where I can find that particular fuse?

The dipped beam headlights are controlled directly from the Body Control Module (BCM) there are no fuses for either headlight. There is a fuse for the high beam but that won't help you.

It sounds like you have an internal failure of the BCM.

Attached is a schematic file that may be of help.

Is this a late Mk2.5 or early Mk3?  Instrument panel soldering would generally suggest Mk2.

As it's over 10 years old now, I'd want to check the wiring before replacing the BCM ideally.

Should be easy enough to test continuity from the BCM plug all the way to the headlight plug using a multimeter and an extra length of wire.  Just need to find the correct pin from Unofix's diagram.
