Ford Focus MK3 1.6 petrol timing belt

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got a 2013 Focus 1.6 petrol 125 with 27k on the clock

Just wondering about whether I should get the timing belt done or not? Also it's got a powershift box (I know) and wondering about the gearbox oil, should I get it changed?

Cheers

You can change the transmission oil, if you want, but it's not as important on DCT250 as it's a dry clutch. DCT450 needs fluid changing often as it's a wet clutch and the fluid gets contaminated.

Timing belt, yes, if you wish, it's due by age

Keep an eye on your battery voltage, powershifts do not like low voltage

Cambelt is recommended every 8 years on this engine.  So it may have been done in 2021 if you've only recently bought the car.
