Galaxy 2007 tailgate dropped

Featured Replies

My tailgate has dropped about half inch both sides and the glass is rubbing on tops of tail lights, it is also difficult to close. All bolts seem to be tight. Please help as I don't want the rear screen to break where it is rubbing the lights.

I can't visualise how the glass can be touching the lights.  Have you got a picture?

Either side, the glass sticks out and rubs on the top of the tail lights.20240519_151428.thumb.jpg.9fd1f4d6001ecd9a9a4c656f94a1f4c9.jpg

This is the dropped amount on top looks like20240519_151440.thumb.jpg.342c8dff8ba05e5e2c15be9abc06b253.jpg

Ah, I'd forgotten the Galaxy had split rear tail lights at that age.  See exactly what you mean now.

The only options really are that the hinges have shifted, despite the bolts feeling tight.  Or that the hinges have bent.  Either way, this can only be a hinge fault as far as I can see.

Are the bolts visible on the car side of the hinge?

I have same problem changed hinges tapped back chassis hinges attached to, shut and clears lights without tailgate struts but, putting struts on pulls boot down onto lights, anyone any ideas on a fix?
