Ford Grand Tourneo Connect

Featured Replies

I brought a car last year and was quite happy with it as my mobility scooter fitted in the boot. However I kept getting faults like check your fog light, sensors not working, or the whole middle console (sat nav) going completely blank for days. So I rejected the car and handed it back!  I was told that VW had to write a software update to sort out the issues. It had been in and out of the garage more than I had driven it. I was told that it has only affected a handful of cars in the whole country.

With this is mind I thought I can't be so unlucky that if I got another one it would have the same faults!!! WRONG I accepted another car same year slightly different model as this one was a diesel. Lift transferred for my scooter brilliant. No it is also happening on this vehicle.

So my question is how many other grand tourneo's  are having this issue with their car?

Are Ford correct in saying it is only a fault with a handful of cars?

That is very probably true. There are only a handful of Ford Grand Tourneo Connect's in the UK

I've not seen anyone mention this kind of problem before with the Ford Connect van so it could be something that is a unique problem to the Grand Tourneo

Hi

I bought a Tourneo connect in Feb it was ref Apr 23.  I wondered why it was for sale now I’m guessing it’s because it has this problem.  In and out the garage on a regular basis never getting fixed.  Initially thought a battery problem, waited 8 weeks for a warranty one, I bought one to keep on the road.  The warranty Ford one was supposed to fix it, it didn’t.  A tech engineer came last Saturday for the Big Fix but it started again Saturday.  I just don’t know what to do about it.  I will have to get it back to the garage. I need a car for my powered wheelchair.  Any advice?

I’ve had a 23 plate from new and have the same issues. Reverse sensors not working anymore. Random bulb failure warnings including fog lights but all working fine. This week the centre console shut down and just went blank. I had to reset it by holding my finger over the power on button and the volume down button for 10 seconds to reboot it. You’re not alone.

Hi, I am having ALL of these problems with my 2024 Tourneo Connect . Nav Screen going blank "battery needs replacing" etc.

I purchased the car August 2024 from a Ford Dealer, the previous owner had only owned it  4 months and it had only done 780 miles. I suspect that this problem has been there from day one and that is why the original owner got rid of it.

Has any one that has experienced this problem, owned my car for those for those first 4 months  Reg DA---DB. in Black.

I think it was fitted with a hoist.

I would appreciate  any information on the  history of my car from new whilst in your ownership.

Thanks.

Hi every one, have to say you are not alone,  the car has been in the garage multiple times, and most times comes out with nothing or fixed, have been waiting for a software update for 8 months, 5 new batteries, and an alternator, which appears to have gone wrong again, sat nav problems, tons of worrying screen messages flat batteries my app only has two functions now, been dropping off instead of loads when I bought the car, hazard lights and alarm that won't stop, Saturday I had to leave it unlocked as the people in the hall were moaning and came and found me, on the way back I had several warnings I was going crash ! There was nothing near me, I have had loan cars for upto 6 weeks at a time, the windscreen wipers are now deciding what to do , the other day I took an old blade with me, so I could manually hang my arm out the window to wipe the rain off, a sat nav that split into two directions while on a motorway, neither of them were going to where I had set it to, my car is Jan 24 done 2000 miles approx,  feels like they have had it more than me, I am still in touch with I believe a director of Ford and customer services, it appears I will have to reject the car I am guessing that will mean a court case.I am going to the dealer tomorrow as I really can not handle anymore of it, it does what it wants and really I don't feel safe, especially when it says brakes are only partially working. Too much more to tell you here, every time I get in it something else happens, appears to be all software problems, so no you are not alone.

Thanks to someone in this Forum, I was able to solve the blank screen issue:

In the event of the screen going blank on the Ford Tourneo Connect 2023, do the following:

·         Start the engine.

·         Press down and hold down the following at the same time – the start button and the volume down button.

·         Hold for 15 seconds and release.

·         The Ford logo should appear and then the system should re-boot and operate as normal.

·         Stop the engine.

·         Wait a few seconds and start the engine to check that it has worked.
