hi all

ford focus 2001(51 plate) 1.8 estate ghia pet

i have a problem with my seat belt chime, it doesn't work,

no light on the dashboard cluster, no chime etc

I know most of you who will be reading this post will say winner, leave it as it is. id like it to work so any help would be great. ill start with what ive checked.

- id thought it mite have been disabled so i have tried to reverse the chime hack. (didn't work and as there's no light on the dash quite hard to do)

- have checked all the fuses.cant find any that have blown or reference on fuse directory.

- have checked the wires under the seat etc all seem to be intact.

- have replaced builb in dash

what would be good to know....

- does the head light chime come from the same circuit and speaker.

if yes - the headlight chime when door open is still dinging away

- is there a in car ground that could have been disconnected or any other wires etc that would kill it or prone to problems.

- is this a standard feature on all focus cars. the model is a ghia

- what are the wires that go to the washer jets. is this part of the climate pack etc? if so what other stuff should be with it.

- would hitting something with a hammer be help full.

it had crossed my mind, but its a ghia with full climate pack, electric windows,etc but no seatbelt chime seems a bit strange. im waiting for a haynes to come to get a wiring diagram, all the leads go through seat ect. its either been tampered with over the years or as you say it might just not have one. if i do the dash lamp test it dosent light but then nor do the indicator lamps..

There are 4 books by haynes (Numbers "3759" "4807" "4167" "4785") from 1998 to 2009, all cost about £19
