Bcm issue I think ?

Featured Replies

I got in my car yesterday and previously no issues, I started my car and the display advised all doors open, boot and bonnet and interior lights on, car drove ok no engine issues! Car would not lock

then hours later the car opened and interior lights came on, drove home but the display advised parking brake applied?
the car alarm went off over night, unlocked and locked car, mirrors folded in the tried to reopen and no mirrors and remained ,closed,

been out to it today run a diagnostic check and run engine, now I have elm light on, wipers doing erratic things and car started, locked unlocked interior lights on,

I’m nearly done with this car , can I remove bcm from car check the green connector and see if I have a knackered ecu board, with battery attached or advise remove negative / positive to be removed,

new fault to me it common in others as I’m learning,

can I buy another bcm does it need to be flashed ?

You should disconnect the battery negative really

Yes, check for water ingress/damage

You can buy a good used BCM, providing it is the same part number and has to be flashed, yes

I have checked my bcm for water ingress today and all seems fine, no damage on pins or corrosion on board, now I’m unsure where to go next , please ignore the damp look I’ve sprayed the pins and retainer with contact cleaner and a small soft brush

where do I go Now,

car currently advised bonnet doors and boot open, car won’t lock interior lights on again ,

removed battery terminal for a while whilst cleaning and checking I was hoping all would be good!
