Focus 1.5 Zetec Juddering

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

As some will know I swapped car to a Focus 1.5 Tdci Zetec this w/end. After coming home I noticed upon setting off in 1st gear there was a juddering. Nothing big but doesn't do it if I use second. Is there a what I call a dogbone as on the mk1 or something similar? Is this a known issue with the mk3?

Thanks

Barrie

There is a dogbone mount below the gearbox, now known as a torque restrictor.  Though if you're not getting much play in other gears then I doubt that's at fault.  The Mk3 mounts are a bit weak as standard, so some movement is expected for harsh gearchanges.

Hi Tom, thanks for the info. I may just change mountings as a matter of course. More bl**dy work. Ha HA
