Focus 1.6tdci p0299 &p1103

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2010 Focus 1.6tdci with 145k miles on the clock which I have owner for 8 years. When accelerating the engine malfunction comes on the dash or the engine management light comes on. The fault codes are P0299 turbo under boost and P1103 mass airflow sensor in range but higher than expected.
If I accelerate gently this doesn't happen. The turbo appears to be fine judging by the way the car accelerates in 1st and 2nd gear.
I have read previous posts on this problem but they don't provide a solution for my car.
I have replaced the MAF & MAP sensors, the booster solenoid and EGR valve so far. I cannot find any issues with the pipes. I have an old code reader which shows one constant on the freeze frame info - the MAP pressure always falls to 25kpa (3.6 psi). I have also noticed if I take the oil filler cap off there is back pressure.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Alternatively can anyone recommend a garage in the Liverpool/Southport area that has the relevant equipment and knowledgeable staff to diagnose the problem.
