Hi all,

 have a 17 plate Focus with retractable wing mirrors. When I unlocked the car yesterday morning the passenger side mirror didn’t open. The mirror adjustment buttons still work to move the mirror up down in out. I have pressed the button to manually open/close the mirror but it still doesn’t open. Any ideas

    You can open the mirror manually by hand if necessary.  If it won't fold electronically at all now, the motor has probably failed, or less likely the wiring may be damaged.

    Stand by the mirror when trying to open/close. Can you hear the mirror motor whirring? If so, likely the motor still works, but the gears have worn and aren't engaging  with the folding mechanism,.
