Please help Ford Mondeo 2016

Featured Replies

Hi, please can someone give me some advise on if I’m being given false information about my car.

i was driving to the beach a couple of months and the speed dropped with a amber spanner light showing.

I took the car the day after for a full service and still the same problem!
I took the car back to the same garage where the mechanic said it was a fuel issue.

(9 weeks) later he still has my car after checking sensors and stuff, he wanted me to pay for second hand injectors which I didn’t and have asked for them to be checked.

today I have a message saying all four injectors and possibly the fuel pump looking at around £2500!

is it normal for all four injectors to go and a fuel pump?

the car has a full service history and has never let me down brilliant car until this..

Cars done 110000 miles

Full service history

2.0tdci

2016

please can someone shine some light on this for me.

Thanks

Yes that's normal.  When the high pressure fuel pump breaks down, small metal fragments get forced into the injectors which wrecks them.

However, I can't confirm that that is the issue with your car without seeing the fault codes and the metal debris in the fuel filter housing.
