Mk7 Mp3 Stereo Problem

Featured Replies

when listening to mp3/data cd's the player jumps an resumes, this happens all the time. not in the same place on the same track either, so i've narrowed it down to the player.

wierdly, old mp3 cd's from 3 years ago play better in the player, they still jump and skip but nowhere as fequently as new cd's i make.

i had the car in at ford a while back for an ecu reflash when they also upgraded the stereo/blutooth to the latest firmware cos the stereo kept locking up, that is fixed but i'm not sure taking the car to ford for another firmware update will resolve anything.

i guess i'm looking for other similar stories from you lot.

wht are your experiences :)

had the same thing m8,it is all down to CD quality (Ford probably thought they were bulding a Bentley  ),also you need to copy the music to the CD on the lowest speed, then it wont skip :)

s you reckon using say sony discs and burning at 2x real speed instead of using supermarket discs at 24x speed will solve the problem?

Just try burning a couple of CDs at a slower speed and see how it goes first.

awesome. i'll try burning at 16x (lowest i can on windows burning software). on another note, does it matter what program you burn the data disc in, i mean, should i use nero instead?

i'm not using poverty spec discs now but then again they're not exactly premium either, hopefully that doesn't make a difference..

fingers crossed

that did the trick for me,i used Nero, and burned on lowest speed (using sony CD) and it works perfectly :)

excellent, will try that if this cd fails :)

Bumpy suspension????? sounds insane but i have had cars with stiff set ups and it did make the cd skip.

Get an ipod that will sort the skiping :D

unfortunatley the problem still persits, albeit not as frequent.

i ruled out the suspension after i had the stereo on whilst i was vacuuming on the drive and it happened just as much as when driving..

i would get an ipod, but i only have line in. so wouldn't be able to see the tracks or control them from the wheel. so its a no no unfortunately.

is this a warranty claim or is burning at th lowest speed available (16x) just to high for the stereo?

16x is still way too high a speed. you want to be down around 2x speed for burning. Get yourself a free cd burning program that supports slower speeds.
