Fiesta Mk4 Door Light Switch Connector Fell Down The Pillar...

Featured Replies

This happened a while ago but I never really got round to trying to fix it till now. A few months ago I was trying to fix a dodgy drivers door switch (courtesy light somtimes came on somtimes didn't!) and the thing that connects to the back of the switch/button fell down the pillar... Afterwords I read a Haynes manual and it said tape the wire to the outside of the pillar so it doesn't fall in... Too late for that eh!?

So, how do I get it back!?

OK. In situations like this, you sometimes have to take a deliberate step backwards to be able to move forward again.

Remove the interior trim at the bottom of the pillar, and you should be able to get to where the cable goes up into the pillar and retrieve the end of it. Push some wire down from the switch hole and retrieve the end of this. Tie and/or tape the two ends together and use the new wire to pull the old one back up.
