Now my c max 1.8tdci it’s started doing nothing when the key is inserted , take the key out and insert it the it lights up and starts as if nothing's happened it’s done this 3 times now about a week apart

.seems I missed a bit. Out I don’t drive and I miss heard my partner. 
When the key is inserted to the start position the dashboard lights are on. Waits until the oil and engine lights go out then turns the key to start it. Then when it’s turned all the lights go out and nothing. Take the key out put the key back in and it warks as it should no starter mother clicks or anything. Thanks.

    Ignition switch behind the key barrel is probably getting worn.  They only cost about a tenner online and fairly easy to replace.
