Replacing 2017 Fiesta 1.25L

Featured Replies

Hello people,

I need some guidance please. A friend has had her 2017 Fiesta 1.25L Zetec 5 door Manual trans written off. One owner, full service history, immaculate. Only 31,500 miles

Insurers have only offered £7,300 to start, but hope to get them up a lot more. They seem to be selling at north of around £8,450, also not many about and even less if you go for within 20 mile radius of Coventry. (I used Autotrader)

I don't recommend going for an ecoboost (hundreds of those for sale at less money) due to the wet belt problems. I also believe the 1.1L Ti -VCT is also a wet belt (Ecoboost engine with no turbo?)

So, if we cant find a Fiesta 1.25L 5 door Zetec at around 30,000 miles and around £8,000 to £8,500 can anyone recommend a different make at around same price and spec. same size as Fiesta, not smaller and 5 doors.

For example, do 2017/2018 Vaux Corsa's have wet belts, if so, no go

Thanks for any advice and comments

The current one has a Peugeot Puretech, so wet belt. However, Iirc it didn't launch in the UK until 2019 so ok in that respect at least.

VW group superminis - Polo, Fabia,Ibiza - and the smaller Up/Citigo/Mii are available with their 1.0 triple in turbo and n/a forms and have a conventional cambelt. We've had a n/a Mii 10 years without issues.

As is the earlier 1.0 n/a triple found in the Mk 7.5 Fiesta.
