[Focus] Banging side on the left-hand side of the car

Featured Replies

Greetings folks.

I just recently bought a 2023 Focus ST-Line with 22.000km and I noticed that, whenever I go over any kind of bump (speed bump, pothole, sewer covers) it produces a sort of "banging" sound coming from the front left-hand side of the car. It's nothing extremely loud, but loud enough for anyone inside the car to be able to hear it reasonably well. It seems to come from the area around the wheel.

Any tips to what it might be? Thanks.

I have the same issue on mine, it sounds like the left rear, it thumps on bumps, so I have to go extra slow on speed bumps, on my first MOT I mentioned the thumping, it passed fine, no issue found, it's just a little annoying, especially on our rubbish roads, I thought it was something to do with the suspension, but obviously not, might be something do with the exhaust, but I couldn't get it to make the noise when stationary moving the tips around, it must be one of life's mysteries

By the lack of responses, I assume it's not a common issue?

I think the issue on mine is something loose inside the dashboard (I'm from Portugal, that's why the dashboard is on the left side).
