1.0 Ecoboost engine not sparking.

Featured Replies

Can anyone help please.

I have bought a 2017 Fiesta ecoboost with the cam belt snapped, I replaced the engine but now there is no spark at the plugs. The old engine had a good spark and it was a bare engine that I fitted so all the same components were used from the original engine. Also there are no fault codes coming up, and it is only turning over a couple of times before stopping, I'm guessing to stop pumping fuel into the cat.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I wonder if for some reason the replacement engine has had the crankshaft pulley removed/replaced, if you watch baz meredith on you tube he has worked on quite a few of these and mentions a crankshaft pick up ring behind the pulley, here is a link to one of his videos.
