Fiesta 1.6 diesel won’t crank over

Featured Replies

Hello,

We have a 2006 fiesta zetec 1.6 diesel.

when you put the key in and turn it don’t do anything, from searches on here most people have a imobiliser issue but that seems to be working fine, flashes when the key is out but as soon as the key is on and in position 2 the light goes out and stays out even after 1 minute.

the starter motor has been replaced and made no difference, checked all fuses and swapped some relays. Can’t hear any relays clicking either when you turn the key into position 3.

were stumped for ideas now so any help or ideas would be appreciated.

thanks!

The ignition switch itself is the most probable fault.

Already swapped that out from another vehicle and tested it and that’s working fine.

thanks for your reply though!

The starter motor control is very basic on your model, assuming that the problem is not with the immobiliser circuit.

Have you replaced anything like the diesel fuel pump, or the ABS brake module ?

No, neither have been replaced.

Thank you for the diagram. Will do some more tests!

Managed to get connected to forscan and the fault I seem to have now I’ve managed to put a key into PATS since for some reason it has no keys assigned is “P1259-21 Immobiliser no signal to PCM” anyone familiar with this fault?

thanks
