Ford Fusion 2009 drivers door open sensor

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

i have a Ford Fusion 2009 and the “drivers door sensor” keeps saying the door is open when it is shut. I have to slam the door 2/3 times and it will then go off. Sometimes it comes on when i’m driving and I have to pull over to slam the door shut again. I have tried spraying the latch with WD40 which I think is where the sensor is located. Any ideas on an easy fix or if i can turn the sensor off?

many thanks!

Andy

Just to add, i have experienced other potential electrical issues, button to open boot not working, button to lock/unlock car on key not working (this could just be a battery issues. Not sure if these things are related but thought it was worth mentioning 🙂
