Warning Low Oil Pressure Ecoboost

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,
I'm new here, hope someone can help thanks, we bought a Galaxy 2019 2.0 Titanium instead of a getting a Motorbility Nissan X-Trail. The AA inspected it before we bought it and everything seemed ok, got the oil changed 2 weeks after buying it and mechanic said we had Wet belt debris in the oil so advised us to get new wet belts.
No garages all around North/East Hertfordshire would do this service, well all the 20 I rang wouldn't except Ford main dealer.
3 days after the oil change the Warning Low Oil Pressure came up on display, Phoned AA they said don't drive it get it towed to get it fixed, they advised a garage in Harlow instead of main dealer in Stevenage
The garage have had the car 5 weeks now and cant fix the Warning Low Oil Pressure message, they said they have fitted new oil pump twice, and belts and pressure switch and done manual oil pressure check while driving which shows correct 20 PSI pressure.
They advise me to drive car away and monitor when the warning message comes on, they think I now have faulty ECU or Body Unit? but cant tell which

Does anyone have any ideas would be so grateful for some good advice other than don't buy an ECOBOOST
Thank you

The 2.0 EcoBoost doesn't use a wetbelt.

So I guess this the 2.0 diesel?  If so it's an EcoBlue, not an EcoBoost.

Thanks for that TomsFocus , yes your right it is EcoBlue,  strange that the AA man referred to it as another ECOBOOM engine tho.  Garage has said if its ECU then that's another £1000 on top of the £1500 we've already paid for the belts and still have low pressure fault

Yes, it is still an unreliable engine.  Though I haven't seen this particular fault before.

Is this a Ford dealership or just an independent garage?

As the oil pressure has been confirmed as good, I'd want a PCM update before paying for a whole new PCM personally.  It is only Ford dealerships that can perform PCM updates though.
