Ford fiesta 1.6 diesel juddering

Featured Replies

I have just recently serviced my ford fiesta TDCi 1.6 and noticed it starts to judder when accelerating and then cuts out at quite high Revs ( 2500 -3000). On the dash as it cut out it comes up with engine oil pressure low or something .

Would the issue be the oil pump ?.

The oil filter may have been installed incorrectly.

Though there is a semi common fault with the oil pump on these where the pressure relief valve spring breaks so it's likely to be that.

Oil filter went in fine .if it is the relief valve, would you know how much would it be to replace it at a garage ?

If the spring can be removed and replaced in situation then probably around £50.

But if the whole oil pump needs to be removed it's a massive job on these.  Would expect over £500 as the cambelt needs to be removed first for access.

I really would try another filter first for the sake of £10 and 10 minutes.  Don't need to change the oil again.
