Fiesta 1.6 Auto - Gear Selector backlights

Featured Replies

The gear selector back light(s) have failed on my wife’s 2007 1.6 Auto Fiesta.

It has the conventional automatic gearbox, not DuraShift, but there is nothing in Haynes Manual 4170 for the normal automatic gearbox!

I’ve removed the top tray around the gear selector and charge socket but still can’t see where the bulbs are and I’m loathed to unscrew anything around the selector without checking first. Can’t find any info online either.

Any clues or help would be greatly appreciated!

It's taken me a minute to get my head around what your problem is, but I think I've got it now 🤣

So the back light illumination of the gear position indicator has gone out and you need to change the lamp 👍

I'm sure someone will be along soon with an answer.

It looks like you've got to remove the top panel from the main selector body to access the bulb though I don't have experience doing it.
