Ford Focus 3 guidelines problem

Featured Replies

I have an Focus mk3.5 ,

I recently installed a reversing camera, all work but the problem is that the guide lines do not appear on sync3

could someone help me with an answer that would be the cause of the problem?

Did you install an original or aftermarket rear view camera?

On an original rear view camera the guidelines are controlled by the BCM. The rear view camera communicates with the BCM (by either CANbus or LINbus). The BCM draws the adaptive parking lines on top of the camera image.

An aftermarket rear view camera is not capable to communicate with the BCM and therefore the BCM is not able to draw the adaptive parking lines on top of the camera image. Most aftermarket rear view cameras have their own fixed parking lines.

the person I bought it from claims it's original, how can I tell the difference? 🙂

Would love to get your input JW1982.

I update Base Sync to Sync 3 months ago and have had no issues since, however my active guidelines have just disappeared. I still have the parking distance squares that change colour, audio output, the mini car on the APIM and auto park still work.

There has been no changes to hardware or software since installation.

2014 MK3 Titanium trim.

I have ForScan and tried a BCM reset, BMS reset and have just tried a master reset of APIM but still hasn’t resolved it.

Any ideas as to what it might be and what steps I could try to resolve it?

@Bolek

Got mine working by doing the following

AsBuilt line 7B1-03-01 in IPMB. Changed my values to 19C8 9D. Worked instantly, including all static lines, dynamic lines, dashed centre line and distance squares
