2010 Fiesta Zetec 1.4Tdci - No Headlight Warning Chime?

Featured Replies

Hi, newbie here!

I've realised that if I open my driver's door without switching my headlights off I do not get the usual warning beep/chime that I've had with very other Fiesta I've had. I'm now finding that I'm leaving my lights on all the time, I didn't realise how much Ive come to rely on this. I've gone through all the options I can find in the menu on the (display, vehicle, audio etc ) but can't find anything in here. I can't find my owner's manual either (doh!) so can't check there. To be honest, I thought this would have been on by default like my other Fiestas.

Any ideas? Can I switch the chime on? Or is this feature not on my fiesta model? Or is it maybe a fault?

Thanks in advance.

On my Mk7 the 'chime' only comes on when you turn off the ignition and then open the door.

Nope, mine doesnt do that. To be honest, the more I think about it I don't think it has ever done it.

There should be an option under Vehicle Settings to turn Warning Chimes on or off. If this is set to 'On' & it still doesn't work then I would go back to your dealer.

The warning chimes are on so I'll give the dealer a call tomorrow.

Thanks for your help guys!

does the interior light come on when you open the door?

If not then either the door switch is broken, the relay is stuck open or there is a break in the circuit meaning that the car doesnt know the door is open, hence no chime.

not sure which fuse covers this but perhaps find out and check that if the light does come on when the door is opened.

I dont think the warning chimes cover this as I have my chimes turned off and the light chime still operates when the door is opened...

i had same problem, dealer advised about it and changed door handle as it was defective, works fine now.
