Fiesta 2018 1.0 ecoboost

Featured Replies

Hi, can someone help!

I am asking my local Ford dealer to guide me through the wet belt issue.

44,000 miles FSH from new.

They are asking for £168 diagnosis fee.

What works are carried out to 'diagnose'

Can anyone help to explain, as yes I am worried that the oil feed filter pipe could be blocked ?

Just wondering how they can tell

Thanks and regards

Steve S

For £168 they're probably just plugging in the diagnostic tool to read the fault codes.

That doesn't sound like enough labour to remove the cat in order to remove the sump which then allows access to the oil pump strainer.

Are you worried for a particular reason (dash warning, noise, etc?) or just "worried" because of all the negative publicity on ecoboosts?

FSH to Ford's recommended schedule on a 2018 will mean it's only had 3 oil/filter changes (unless the previous owner's had it done more often, which probably won't be recorded). Annual changes are a good idea.
