Mk 3 - New android head unit fitted but with issues

Featured Replies

Hi, I have recently fitted a new android head unit to my 2012 focus.

Everything seems to be working fine except, I am constantly getting Bluetooth pairing request to my phone from 'Ford Audio'. Which I presume is the original radio. Does anybody know how to disconnect or remove the cars Bluetooth as it's clashing with my new android unit l android auto.

I'm worried the only option I have is to refit the old radio and manually remove my phone from the Bluetooth.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

On many Focus of the 2012 era, the bluetooth was a totally separate module to the Ford radio. Often it is located up behind the glovebox. You will probably need to remove the glovebox to be able to see it. There are just two connectors on it, so you just need to unplug them and that will disable the original Ford bluetooth.
