Variable valve solenoid leaking

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I really hope someone can help me out.

My 2007 ford focus mk2 1.6 petrol

I noticed a oil leak coming from the rear vvt solenoid and bought a new 1.

Went to fit it and couldnt get it past the new o ring.

So put it in as far as possible and slowly tighten the bolt to hope it would force it in.

Unfortunetely it snapped thr bolt head off.

I drilled the bolt out to get the solenoid in properly i put the old o ring on and it went in fine.

Now the oil is still leaking at the bottom at the back and its leaking from the top of the solenoid where the like little metal tab is.

Is this a bad o ring or is the new solenoid totally faulty?

Please help me
