Hi guys hoping you can help. I’ve got a 1.8 petrol mk3 mondeo showing engine light after a few hours and won’t go out on its own. The garage had a quick check of the code and it said egr. I’ve not long had the car and it seems to be making a static sound through the vents for the blower for the windscreen. The sound is in keeping with the revs of the engine. 
 

just wondered if anyone has had this? The egr looks to have been replaced fairly recently. Still shiny. Any advice would be much appreciated!
