Windscreen Wiper Problem

Hi. Whilst driving this morning I used the windscreen wipers and the driver's wiper stopped in a vertical position on the return cycle (the passenger wiper returned as normal). When I next used the wiper the driver's wiper flipped off the windscreen (not much fun in the rain on the M6). Does any one have any ideas on how it can be fixed?

    yes put it back on spindle and retighten the nut which holds it in place should solve the problam
