Reusing tyre inflators

Featured Replies

I had to use my Ford tyre inflation kit with sealant today.  Fortunately it worked well.  There must be sealant left in the hose from the inflator to the tyre valve.  Does this harden?  I need a new inflator as well as a new bottle of sealant or can I use my existing inflator again if necessary?

Anybody got any experience/advice?

The compressor can be reused.  But the hose should be replaced.  The Ford parts catalogue has a very simple and concise note about it.

I genuinely do learn something new here all the time 👍

Thanks for that.

I'd much rather use one of these if appropriate as I believe the tyre cannot be repaired with that gunk inside it?:

As long as the hole is in the central tread area plus you can do it without removing the wheel from the car

Plus a track pump to blow it back up!

These are good in an emergency too.
