Ford Explorer dash reflection

Featured Replies

Hi, I have just purchased the new Explorer and I have a couple of niggles that I don't know if anyone has experienced. I'm getting a really bad reflection from the top of the dash onto the windscreen, I have cleaned the glass inside and out but really doesn't make much difference. I thought I would get used to it and see through it but I'm not, its like it regardless of the light conditions during the day. Has anyone else found this? I'm also struggling to get any seat position comfortable but that maybe just my back, having said that I have has loads of Fords and never had an Issue. Cheers.

You will have to wait until next year for an answer.

It would've broken down by then

This seems to be worse on some cars than others.  I found it particularly bad on Mk3 Focus.

Nothing you can really do about it other than trying different seating positions to change the angles and possibly get a matt finish dash pad (like a floor mat for the dashboard) to reduce it's glare being reflected in the screen.

I'm suspecting "AI"

In the last couple of days we have had a few new posters who think it's 2025........ or is it ?🤔

Sorry definitely not AI! When you join the group and it asks you what car you have it starts with 2025 and I wasn't concentrating.

Some rally drivers of old use to get a 'flock' type finish spray onto the dashboard to prevent glare. Probably not even available in these modern times, probably killed off some dolphins 🤣

EDIT

Just found this...

Not far off tbh...  I scoffed seeing a set of pumpkins outside a house over the weekend.  Genuinely thought to myself, they could at least wait until October...

Most people just let auto-complete fill in sign-up forms nowadays, me included, and the year doesn't show beside posts on mobile so most won't even know it's wrong until you point it out.  I wouldn't use that to decide AI.  However I have also noticed a few seemingly AI posters recently.  Ones that make very little sense or don't write in a way that most people would.  🤔
