Can I confirm, that sometimes when you turn engine off, the blower continues to operate and you get chilled air?

Sorry , fan, not air con

Entirely normal if your engine is hot for radiator fan to run a minute or so after engine switch off to help cooling. Surprised your 'mechanic' never suggested that?

Is it a Diesel?

Yes diesel,  only stays on  sometimes,  drained battery the other week.

Have changed sensor and relay still doing it.

Sometimes the fan comes on as soon as you start engine,  even when car is frozen,  sometimes only when you turn engine off, but then won't stop, drained battery completely last time.

Drained battery?? Exactly how long did the radiator fan remain on? Roughly the fan would use about 200w, it'd need to run for over 3 hours for a fully charged battery to drain... Exactly what 'sensor' was changed?

If this is a diesel with a DPF then the fan runs while it's doing a DPF regen.  If it fails a regen the night before, the fan will run on after switching the engine off, and it will start one again as soon you start the engine the next day.

If it's a diesel without a DPF, you can just unplug the fan for now to prevent the battery drain.  The coolant won't ever get hot enough to need it in winter.
