ABS and stability control illuminted on 2013 Kuga

Featured Replies

Hello all,

The ABS and stability control lights have come on a couple of times in my Kuga this afternoon.
when they were illuminated, the steering appeared to be a bit heavier than usual.
i might be wrong but they seemed to come on after id done a left turn with near to full lock. Also noticed that there is a flappi g noise when driving which i was told was the tread wearing on one of my tyres however im wondering if all this is linked.
booked into garage next week but was wondering if anyone can iffer sny advice about what the potential issue could be.
thanks

My guess would be wheel bearing.

Thanks for the reply. The stuff ive read definitely suggested a wheel bearing.

I would look for the mentioned "flapping noise" that, for me would be a major concern.
It may be that the whatever has damaged an ABS sensor lead?
Unsure about the stiff steering which may or not be connected.

Looking forward to hearing what it was otherwise, without further information, it's an exciting guessing game 😉

Edit; every wheel bearing I have ever had fail is a moaning noise that varies with road speed and cornering but always interested to find new problems and fixes!

I’ll certainly report back once the garage have sorted it.
im saying “flapping” noise but its more like a faint thudding noice that gets faster or slower with the speed of the car.
