I have a 2015 ford focus 1.5 eco boost automatic, A warning on my dash saying Transmission malfunction service needed. I have no problem with the gear changing and runs as normal. Had it to main dealers they said there was a slight oil leak under the gear box which they said had gone one to some wires, I had this checked out at my normal garage and he found no oil leak. the main dealer wanted the car back in to strip it all down. but did not tell me what the problem is.

I was told that a low battery could be causing the notification ?? Can anybody help and is it safe to keep driving the car

You still need to specify which transmission is fitted because if you have a TCM you must be a powershift, but if you have a 1.5 Petrol you must be a 6F35 torque converter🤔

If it's complaining there's a fault, there's a fault.

As I mentioned yesterday, if you ignore it it will jump up and bite you.

Definitely a low battery can flag up transmission faults, so changing the battery would be the first thing to do

Then, get yourself set up on FORScan and see what codes the transmission is giving you

Edit: Come to think of it now, I'm not sure if 6F35 does have a TCM, I know 6F15 doesn't
