Whats this 2.0 engine part?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 2011 Mondeo estate with 2.0 Ecoboost engine. I bought it second hand has high milage. I recently got the timing chain done after which had issue where misfire fault came on and most recently rocker cover gasket failed and blowing smoke.

I suspect PCV valve may be an new issue which I'm going to inspect myself (as it has postive for blowing from the oil cap) however noticed the part arrow in green on the picture is snapped under the rubber tubing and curious to know if this could be a cause. Really want to avoid taking it back the mechanic because they’ve not proven trustworthy so far.

any help is appreciated.

You have been unlucky with this one.  We rarely get any broken 2.0 EcoBoost's on here.

That pipe is vacuum for something (sucking towards the plastic inlet manifold in front) but I'm not sure what.  If you can trace that pipe backwards and find the component that it feeds then I may be able to help further.
