Engine service alert and hill start assist

Featured Replies

Hi I bought a fiesta a few weeks ago. 65 plate. Hoping someone can advise please:

Day 1 . The "hill start assist not available",  and shortly after "engine service now"  came on. Car drove fine. Alerts didn't come back on when I turned the engine on later that day, but did later in the week.

Returned to garage (1 month warranty) - they checked codes, all fine, suggested car thinks it needs a service but has had one.

Few days later "engine service now" comes. Return to garage. They put in two new brake light switches and a new battery.

Then today: "hill start assist not available " and shortly after "engine service now".

Just wondering if the hill start assist not working is making the engine service now come on?

If I turn off the hill start assist will it solve it?

The car starts fine, drives fine.

Warranty ends in a few days. Engine alert does not say malfunction, amber coloured spanner lights up.

Thank you

FYI, you have 6 months "warranty" from your consumer rights.

Engine service now means it has a fault, not that it needs servicing.

It needs the codes read. Take it back and tell them to fix, or reject the car.
