Constant warning about switching car off.

Featured Replies

I keep getting this warning. The car is switched off. The reverse sensors also changed noise whilst this warning on.

happened 2 years ago. Rang up. Told it was ok. Dad rang was taken in and dealt with.

is this a common thing. Had fiestas for 24 years. No problems. This car nothing but glitches.

Hi Lisa, welcome to the forum.

Presumably you haven't been viewing the site before joining and therefore haven't seen the (literally) dozens of threads on this issue affecting recent cars, eg:

https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/150089-system-off-to-save-battery-message/

It is unfortunately "normal" for modern cars (most makes forums have similar threads nowadays) due to the "intelligent" charging systems used for environmental reasons.

If you do not use the car almost daily, you will need to invest in a smart battery charger and charge the battery every 5/6 weeks. Coincidentally mine is just getting its regular top-up as I type.

Hope Dad was not dealt with too severely!😀
