Sat nav

Featured Replies

Hi.

I have just bought a 2016 Ford focus titanium thinking it had sat nav as standard.  Someone told me that if it says information where the sat nav is on the split screen it does not come with it.

My question is if I purchase a used sat nav off eBay like in picture would it work in my titanium if I do a straight swap, and purchased a sync 2 map card.

Many thanks

John

It’s much cheaper to just activate nav on your existing unit. But we can’t discuss the “how” here.

Hi

Thanks for the quick response.

Did know you could as got told it was not possible.

I am assuming if you just put a card in the reader it won't work.

Thanks

No it needs activating before the SD card will work.

Thanks.

I'll have to look into how you activate it.

There are many videos on YouTube (mostly American) that show you how to turn the SatNav on.

Just watched a YouTube, looks quite straightforward. Why does the forum not permit explaining the method, is it an illegal upgrade?

Why 20 years on is the forum still preventing helping with radio codes ?

Over in the crèche, sorry clubhouse the kids post hundreds of 'copyright' jokes everyday 🙄

Rather than the admins have to deal with take down requests and getting the club in hot water we try to keep anything that circumvents licences, security, etc off the forum.

Other places that allow discussion are usually either completely closed off to the public (members only/discord) or registered and hosted in a country that wouldn’t enforce take downs.

I've had a look at some of these videos and it does look simple enough.

Thanks

Thank you to everyone for all the advice.

I'm confident I know what I'm doing now.
