Ford Focus Hybrid mHEV ST-Line X: High revs

Featured Replies

Hi has anyone had a problem with new models automatics going into limp

mode. High revs doing 60:70 then boom away down to 24. It’s only 3/4 months old. Going to the garage today but had RAC out 3 times and they can’t find anything wrong. Got a feeling im going to get same response from garage. Looking to see if this happens to anyone else

Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid mHEV ST-Line X 5dr:

Is this the 155ps auto?  There seem to a lot of faults on those in the Puma & Fiesta recently, though I'm not sure whether they use the same auto gearbox as the Focus.

Your car is still under warranty so any diagnosis and repair should be free at a Ford dealer.  RAC don't have the specific Ford software to read specific fault codes.

Also, are you paying for RAC cover?  New Fords used to come with Ford Assist for the first 12 months which I think is still covered by the AA.

Hi im the same person couldn’t get in that account. RAC are saying nothing wrong with it. They drove it and it never happened. It’s now in my drive with no battery. They want me to drive it 19 mile to garage no chance it just goes into limp at anytime. Yes it’s the auto 155. I want it back and get another car I don’t trust it now

This car is still under manufacturers warranty.  It needs to go back to Ford for diagnostics.  You can ask the Ford garage if they will come and collect it.  Or pay for a private car transporter to take it there on a trailer.

When you say no battery, do you mean the main car battery is totally flat now so it won't unlock etc?  If so, it may just need a jump start to get it on the trailer.  Ford can then either charge or replace it.

Is the car currently on finance or do you own it outright?
